Pastor Roger Stuenkel
In thirty-six years, Pastor Roger Stuenkel has experienced a variety of ministries.
Starting out in rural ministry and campus ministry in South Dakota, he changed climates to move to Arizona to start a new congregation in the desert outside of Tucson. He started another congregation in New Jersey (near Philadelphia) before coming to Ascension in September, 1999.
Stuenkel is married to Margaret, a native of the Niagara Falls, N.Y., area. Trained as a Lutheran school teacher and with a background with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Mexico, Mrs. Stuenkel has served as the principal of Luther Memorial School, an inner city Lutheran school, for the past six years. Pastor Stuenkel has three grown daughters in Portland, Ore., while Margaret is the mother of a son in Colorado and a daughter in Cleveland.
A native of Milwaukee, Wis., Pastor Stuenkel continues faithfully to follow and support the Green Bay Packers. For recreation, he enjoys golf.
